Lucy R. Hudson
B.A. / B.S./ M.Ed. / NTA Cert.
Lucy R. Hudson is a native of Emporia, Virginia, and is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a Master of Education in Adult Learning with a focus in Family Literacy, Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies, and Bachelor of Science in Urban Planning.
Lucy has over 15 years of experience in academic advising and student development, as well as public, financial, and human resource management in various roles at Virginia Commonwealth University and as a Learning Specialist/Trainer with the Academic Support Center at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College, and as an adjunct instructor teaching Student Development and Social Skills.
Lucy specializes in student development, social skills building, comprehension skills development, increasing student engagement, leadership building, and adult career and personal development! She has trained multiple tutors in student engagement and understanding and implementing learning styles strategies, using the vision mapping technique!
Currently, she serves as the Associate Director of Graduate Academic Operations in the Department of Psychology and is pursuing a Doctor of Education in Leadership at Virginia Commonwealth University! Outside of the university setting, Lucy serves as an Associate Minister and Youth Lay Leader at 7th Street Memorial Baptist Church in Richmond.
